3 things I’m trying in 2021, and one I’m giving up!

plan for 2021

Well, I think we can agree that 2020 was a mess for the most part, and we are looking forward to an upswing in 2021.

I am not so much a resolution kind of girl, but there are some things I would like to do better in life that I started working on in the last few months and want to carry through the year.

Cook More

I am the queen of drive thru. Great for the businesses I frequent, but this isn’t good for anyone’s waistline or our family’s budget. So I’ve been really making an effort on meal planning and increasing how many meals I cook at home.

Eliminating the “Just”

So often I like I’m just a mom who is just changing diapers, just doing laundry, just driving the minivan and just a military spouse doing the mundane daily things. I’m really working to remove “just” from my thinking and to see how what I do is important.

Decluttering

I know we have a PCS coming up sometime in the second half of 2021, so I’m in full downsizing mode prior to selling this house, figuring out temporary lodging with three kids and a dog, and living in the hurry up and wait mode of a military move.

And What I’m Ditching in 2021…

In addition to trying these 3 things I’ve decided to give up on hyper-independence. My entire life I’ve prided myself on being able to do things on my own…and then came baby #3, a third c-section, in my late 30s, during a pandemic.

I was out of hands to juggle everything and couldn’t do it all on my own.

If 2020 taught me anything, it’s that you have to be able to ask for help and to be willing to receive help when it is offered.

So there you have it. Three things I’m trying and one thing I’m leaving behind.

What are you working on or leaving behind as we move forward in 2021?

Send me your reply. I’d love to hear about it and I personally read every response!

I’m cheering for you!
